Oh Jieun

About

Oh Jieun wants to capture distorted images and disappearing emotions through painting that seems to contain shaking subjects. He discovered two contradictory ways to capture the memories and emotions of moments of rapid volatilization. By reproducing the image recorded in the picture again in painting, the clear indicator symbolizing "being there" is blurred with paint, and it constantly captures the feelings and memories of emptiness that cannot be eternal.

오지은은 흔들리는 피사체를 담아낸 듯한 페인팅을 통해 왜곡된 이미지와 사라지는 감정을 포착하고자 한다. 그는 빠르게 휘발하는 순간의 기억과 감정을 담기 위해 모순적인 두 가지 방법을 천착한다. 사진으로 기록한 이미지를 다시 회화로 재현함으로써 ‘거기 있었음’을 상징하는 확실한 지표를 물감으로 뭉근하게 흐리며, 영원할 수 없는 허무의 감정과 기억을 끊임없이 붙잡는다.
